West Indies celebrated after routing Bangladesh for 58 in 18.5 overs, Bangladesh v West Indies, Group B, World Cup 2011, Mirpur, March 4, 2011
Bangladesh surrendered before West Indies pacers in 18.5 over for 58 runs, it is lowest total ever score made by any nation in World Cup history. The contest ended in just 31.1 over as both sides batted for their innings at Mirpur. The contest was wide open with the variations in Group B after England's loss to the Ireland. West Indian's bowlers Sulieman Benn, Kemar Roach and Darren Sammy derailed the batting lineup of the co-hosts.
After out-muscling Ireland in a low-scoring thriller last week, Bangladesh began their third contest full of sanguinity, with the crowd reacting wildly to Shakib Al Hasan's correct call at the toss. However, the hubbub was sucked clean out of the stadium by Roach's third delivery of the match, a full-length out swinger which Tamim flashed loosely to Sammy at second slip for a duck. After feeble batting show by Bangladesh, West Indies started their innings with full of confidence and only Naeem Islam succeeded to take wicket of Smith and finished their mark in 13th over. West Indies resided the position at No.2 in Group B's point table so far, West Indies will play their fourth game with buoyancy Irish side on 11th March.
