Paul Stirling raised his bat after maiden World Cup hundred, Ireland v Netherlands, World Cup 2011, Group B, March 18, 2011
Two luminous centuries amused the spectators at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Both associate teams Ireland and Netherlands played their finale group game of World Cup 2011. Ryan ten Doeschate secured his second ton of the tournament before Paul Stirling launched a blazing innings of 101 while faced 72 deliveries. Ireland proved themselves boom in all departments like fielding, bowling and batting and made differences between two sides, Ireland wrapped their second triumph by six wickets with more than two over to spare.
Ireland openers blasted Netherlands bowlers by hitting elevated shots, they shared 177-runs opening stand to make Netherlands panicky, Ireland continued their momentum although they lost wickets. Netherlands could not abandon their striking shots. Netherlands should have had a breakthrough as early as the third over, but Adeel Raja put down a top edge off William Porterfield's bat at third man and Ireland were soon rocketing along at eight an over. Stirling endowed with the main impulsion in that regard.
