England cricket teamPaul Collingwood and Stuart Broad are being impressive their second warm-up match against Pakistan at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in the bowling section as they defeated Pakistan by 67 runs, Paul Collingwood made a wise impact with a match winning allround play and Stuart Broad sustained his inspiring World Cup build-up as England produced a credible display to beat Pakistan by 67 runs in their final warm-up game. The batting, guided by Kevin Pietersen's 66, posted a strong 273 on a sluggish pitch before Broad dispersed Pakistan's top order, and then returned to wipe up the tail. Collingwood, whose off cutters could demonstrate priceless as the tournament wears on, chipped in with 3 for 48. After the discomfiture of their near-defeat against Canada on Wednesday, England's efforts were much more positive second-time around, as they continued their competition with the Pakistan side that they edged out 3-2 in an emotional home series last September, which came in the wake of the spot-fixing humiliation at Lord's.

However, five wickets for Stuart Broad on his return to spirited action enabled England to defend their middling total of 243 regardless of being outgunned on the boundary count. Blistering knoch from England 28 for 5 inside the eighth over, Canada challenge finally ended on 227, with 23 balls left unused.

India has done a blistering win against struggling New Zealand, they pilled up a huge total of 360 against New Zealand despite the failures of little master Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli, two players who mounted a century partnership to set the base before MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina, two batsmen, delighted their fans with atrocious hitting that was frenzied even by T20 standards. Furthermore final 16 overs brought a 193 runs to demoralize a rusty New Zealand outfit, which are beat by 117 runs.

The inoffensive practice game had more reasons to be forgotten than to be remembered in spite of the centuries by Ahmad Shehzad and Misbah-ul-Haq. Pakistan beat Bangladesh persuasively by 89 runs at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Mirpur and it was a game that reminded Bangladesh of holes in their system and gave the young Pakistan batsman perfect practice ahead of their first big tournament.

The Australia bowlers were dealt a heavy blow as South Africa racked up a seven wicket win in their warm-up match at Bangalore. Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla both retired to give the middle order some time at the crease during their chase. "It is pretty to win especially since Australia are a really good team. We will take a lot of confidence from defeating them," Amla said. The vigorous nature of the win will sustain South Africa, who has an aching history against Australia in the World Cup, especially as they conquered with both bat and ball.

West Indies had wisped to 281 on the back of half-centuries from Chris Gayle and Darren Bravo, but Sri Lanka batsmen were never hurried as Tillakaratne Dilshan, Captain Kumar Sangakkara and Thilan Samaraweera all made 50s to direct their team to victory.

Warm – up Match Australia vs. India (13th February)

Australia vs. India

India 214/10 v Australia 176/10

India won by 38 runs.

India won the toss and opted to bat at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore,

India        214/10 (44.3 over)        Australia    176/10 (37.5 over)

V Sehwag    54(56)                R Ponting    57(85)

B Lee        3/35 (10 over)            P Chawla    4/31(9 over)

What a splendid entertainment from cricket world cup at Bangalore, India came back with top class spin bowling, especially Piyush Chawla showed his best as took 4 important wickets side by side Harbhajan Singh bowled three Australian players. As India went for batting after winning the toss, they scored only 214 on a batting pitch after good bowling by Brett Lee, he took 3 wickets. Only Virender Sehwag scored 50 and remaining his mates did not show high class batting against Australian seamers. After falling the wicket of Gautam Gambhir, Sehwag and Kohli played well but Kohli bowled out when the score was 54. Yuvraj Singh also did not show responsible innings, he scored only single score. Ashwin & Y Pathan stood well at the crease and team score reached up to 214.

Australian openers Shane Watson & Tim Paine batted well and in just 7.5 over they scored 51, then medium pacer Sreesanth bowled out Watson after caught by Chawla, then skipper Ponting demonstrated good show and the partnership between wicketkeeper and captain was 51 as Paine caught by Patel when Yuvraj bowled him, his score was 37 in 57 balls including 4 boundaries, after the wicket of Paine, no batsman scored in double digit expect Johnson who played for 19 balls and scored 15 runs. Ponting tried to stand at one end and scored 57 runs but he was stumped out by Harbhajan Singh, in just 58 runs, Australian batting line collapsed, spin bowlers Chawla and Harbhajan played vital role in this crumple.

In post match presentation, Dhoni said, "It will be difficult to chase anything over 230 odd on such kinds of tracks. I would be pleased if the wicket turns slightly less in future matches. Piyush has a good googly and now-a-days we see that the umpires give more lbws. When commentator asked to Ponting, he said, "It was hard to bat on right through the day. It spun a lot in the second innings. Hopefully as the tournament goes on, we will get better wickets than this one. This one looked a bit under prepared. Whereas, Piyush Chawla expressed his feelings in the ceremony and said, "It's a great feeling. When I started to bowl in the first Power play, the ball was turning and I knew if I bowled well, there was something for the spinners here. My place in the eleven will depend on things. We have quite a few good spinners. If the pitch is slow and helps spinners, I will have a good chance to make it."

Australia showed some iffy batting while India slow bowlers availed this opportunity and targeted in good line and length.
