Shahid Afridi appeals for LBW of Ashish Bagai wicket, Canada v Pakistan, Group A, World Cup 2011, Colombo, March 3, 2011
Like Ireland triumph against England, Canada urged to beat Pakistan as the second upset of World Cup 2011, but Pakistan's skipper blew their dreams into sand. Although Afridi's batting performance was not still worthy for his side but his bowling speculated all-around the world as the leading wicket-taker in the tournament so far. He got 14 scalps from three games. Today, Pakistan batsmen showed iffy techniques in their innings and no batsman scored a fifty against rusty Canada and all the batting line-up surrendered at 184 in 43rd over.

While chasing a low 184 score, Pakistan bowlers boosted them and gradually got wickets of Canadian players, outstanding bowling from skipper destroyed all the line and for 34 runs, they lost 7 wickets. Pakistan skipper Afridi said, "Batting first was a good decision but the shot selections weren't good. It's a good wake-up call for us. Coach Waqar Younis and I will speak to the boys. It wasn't good shot selection. We won't repeat this kind of performance again. These are perfect conditions for bowling, for spin and fast bowlers".
