Umar Akmal doubted for Zimbabwe game

Umar Akmal
Umar Akmal experienced finger injury, he missed practice at Pallekele stadium and uncertain for Zimbabwe conflict on Monday. Umar travelled with his side to Pallekele for an optional training session on Saturday but he did not bat. His right index finger broke. The nature of the injury is not apparent and scans and X-rays have revealed no fracture.
The team manager, Intikhab Alam said, "There is some soaring still there so he did not bat today, we will see as far as the game on Monday is concerned but it will take a couple of days tranquil". Umar endured from this injury during the fielding practice on Thursday. The Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi later spoke of the possibility of Umar replacing Kamran as wicketkeeper. The injury means that will not happen now and Kamran is almost certain to keep his place. Umar is the second leading scorer of Pakistan in the tournament having 167 runs in four games with an average of 42.
Asad Shafiq would be in the 11-side after Umar's injury concern, Shafiq had a long batting session in practice and will appear as middle order batsman. Ahmed Shehzad, who would probably drop after getting poor scores in four games, would get another chance to show him up. Wahab Riaz will replace Shoaib Akhtar as he would rest in Zimbabwe clash.
