Michael Hussey joined the World Cup Squad after recovery

Michael Hussey
Michael Hussey dreamed about World Cup came true after the selectors included him as the replacement of the injured Doug Bollinger. However, they have made a decision by flying Dirk Nannes to India to train with the squad as a standby player, in case of any unexpected unavailability of Aussies blowing side. Michael Hussey would be a full member of his outfit for Australia's next match against Kenya in Bangalore on Saturday. His presence would bolster Australia's strength against spin.
Michael Hussey suffered from a serious hamstring injury that required surgery before his team flew out to India for World Cup campaign. He was originally named in the 15-man squad for World Cup. Although this decision would be better for Aussies, Ricky Ponting urged to include a blower to his side instead of Michael Hussey. The addition of Nannes to the touring group was more of a revelation, although he will not be an official member of the squad and won't be able to play unless another player is ruled out of the tournament. The move is intended to cut down the travel time in case of a mishap in the day or so before a match, which wouldn't allow enough time to rush a bowler from Australia.
