Imran Tahir, South Africa leg spinner has suffered from fracture to his left thumb but it is not supposed to his participation in the World Cup tournament at risk; however he would be doubted for the match against India at Nagpur, on 12th March. Tahir caught this incident when he took the catch off his own bowling to dismiss Jonathan Trott against England on Sunday.
The team Manager Mohammad Moosajee said, "We have sent the x-rays to Dr Mike and he will give us his opinion by tomorrow". As he will provide the report regarding his fracture to team management, then it would be clearer regarding his availability for the match against India and later. Moosajee said, "The decision will be done on three evidences, the diagnosis, what the surgeon reports and its rehabilitation plus his recovery".
As Tahir bowls with his right hand and his fracture sustains on left hand, so the team management is so hopeful about his availability, He is the leading wicket taker from South Africa side as got 11 scalps from 3 matches and second highest in the tournament behind Shahid Afridi having 15 wickets in 4 matches so far.
