Brendon McCullum pulls a shot during his hundred, New Zealand vs Canada, Group A, World Cup 2011, Mumbai, March 13, 2011
Kiwis ramped to Group A table after achieving an easy triumph over Canada in Mumbai. Brendon McCullum's hundred and a brutal innings of Ross Taylor and some fiery shots of James Franklin boosted the New Zealand score to 358 in 50-over format match. While chasing of 359, Canada could not make an impact on Kiwis as they lost their first two wickets while Canada were on 4 runs, Kyle Mills got first two wickets before leaving the field due to cramping. Ashish Bagai's 84 and unbeaten 70-runs from Jimmy Hansra pulled Canada to their highest total of the tournament.
Canada won the toss and Bagai preferred to bowl first, hoping to take advantage of any early-morning dampness in a pitch that had a typically reddish trace to it. But it proved dearness for his side. New Zealand will play their last group match versus Sri Lanka in Mumbai on 18th March.
