Another Injury of World Cup tournament

Junaid Khan
Pakistan's World Cup campaign has been dealt a blow even before the squad leaves Pakistan, with All-rounder Sohail Tanveer ruled out due to failing to complete a full rehabilitation from surgery for a knee problem that has dropped him two years. Promising young left-arm fast bowler Junaid Khan will replace him in the 15-man squad, which flies out to Bangladesh on Wednesday under Shahid Afridi.
Sohail Tanveer returned back to International Cricket on Pakistan’s recent tour to New Zealand, where he played he played five ODIs, Although he bowled some good spells but he looked generally tarnished, just picking 4 wickets with heavy economy rate. His batting seemed to have improved as he has some good partnerships with his mates. The knee problems are intimidating to finish his career.
However, all his misfortune is to promote young fast bowler Junaid Khan, he is just 21 years old and very emerging player as Muhammad Aamir played with him at U – 19 level for Pakistan, he is very consistent wicket taking bowler at domestic side. Iqbal Qasim, the selector of Pakistan cricket team picked him for world cup squad, believes that he has enormous potential; some analysts also said about him that he would be the replacement of Muhammad Aamir who was barred from cricket for 5 years as he was involved in spot fixing.
Junaid told to a local channel that he had been working so hard over the last couple of seasons and he feel that he has consistently improved as a bowler. I have also been working hard on my batting and I feel that my call-up for the World Cup is warranted as I have done consistently well at all levels for Pakistan.
There have been several high-voltage clashes between India and Pakistan in previous World Cups and Junaid said he was looking forward to another such encounter. Just getting a chance to play in the World Cup is a dream come true for me, he said. But if we get to play against India in the World Cup, it would be a blast to bowl at Tendulkar and get him out. It is an ambition for me.
Pakistan will play its first match against Kenya on 23rd February.
